About LA Injectable Insight

A family owned publication that explains injectable treatments for readers in Los Angeles, in evidence order and in plain words.

Injectables are sold hard in this city. The language around them runs hot, and much of what a search turns up is marketing where an explanation should be. We write the explanation: what a product does, what it cannot do, and how the trade-offs feel in the mirror and under the fingertips.

We are not a clinic. Nobody who writes here injects or sells product, and nobody here holds a medical license. We work as independent, non-clinical editors. Decisions about your own face belong with a licensed clinician who has examined you.

A reader who finishes one of our articles and decides to do nothing has used it correctly.

What we cover

Three areas, each with its own hub: brow and forehead, neck and jawline, and scars and skin texture. Each hub opens with the basics, then points to the longer pieces.

Inside those areas we stay with injectables and the minimally invasive treatments that sit beside them: neuromodulators, fillers, skin boosters, biostimulators and threads. Devices come in where they belong in a comparison.

We write for people who live here. The sun, the driving, the density of providers and the fire season all change how a treatment is planned in Los Angeles, so they show up in the articles where they matter.

What we leave out

Surgery, except to say when a question has moved past what injectables address.

Reviews or rankings of individual providers. We have not sat in every chair and would be guessing.

Advice about your face. We map the options and the trade-offs, then stop.

How a page gets made

Most articles begin as a reader email. We keep a running list of questions and write the ones that come up again and again, or that nobody else has answered plainly.

Background reading comes next. The public universities in the city, including UCLA and Cal State LA, publish research summaries and hold library collections anyone can use, and much of our reading starts there. On how medical businesses are regulated locally, we point readers to the city's own pages, including its list of elected officials, rather than summarize rules we are not qualified to interpret.

Then the draft. We set out what is known before we say what we think, and we mark the line between the two. If the effect of a treatment is modest, we say modest.

Before a page goes up, a second reader goes through it with one job: remove any claim we cannot support with product labeling, published evidence or a reader's direct account.

Money and corrections

Nobody who writes here injects or sells product.

If you find a claim here that is wrong or out of date, tell us. We check it against the source, and when it does not hold, we change the page.

Write to us

If you have a question about an injectable treatment that none of our articles answer, write to us. Tell us what confused you and what you have already read.

We do not reply with medical advice, because we cannot. We reply with an article, eventually, if enough people are asking the same thing.
